AI IPOs

Anthropic has confidentially submitted a draft S-1; OpenAI has announced private financing, not a public IPO timetable. Neither company has a listed common-stock ticker. For now, public-market exposure is indirect through partners and suppliers.

Research updated

Why markets care

Anthropic announced its confidential S-1 submission on June 1, 2026 and said share count and price remain unset. SEC rules mean a confidential draft is not a public prospectus; reported figures should not be treated as audited public filing facts.

OpenAI announced a $122 billion funding round at an $852 billion post-money valuation in March 2026. A public filing would allow investors to evaluate revenue quality, compute obligations, dilution, and governance on a comparable basis.

What to watch

  • Public S-1 and amendments, audited statements, and risk factors
  • Share count, offering price, lockups, and ownership terms
  • Compute commitments versus revenue and cash generation

What could change the view

A confidential filing may be delayed or withdrawn; private valuations and supplier revenue are not direct proxies for an eventual IPO price.
